SANTA CRUZ, Laguna — The Laguna provincial government is preparing to roll out its centralized “Ambulance on the Go” emergency response system in November, starting in the province’s Fourth District before expanding to other areas.

Under the program, residents will be able to call a dedicated emergency hotline, with an ambulance dispatched to their location for immediate assistance and transport to a hospital.

The provincial government said the ambulances will be equipped with medical equipment for responding to accidents and other emergencies, while personnel are undergoing training ahead of deployment.

27 drivers have completed Basic Life Support training while 30 have completed Standard First Aid training as of the moment, according to the provincial government.

The Fourth District will serve as the initial coverage area, followed by the Third, Second and First districts. The provincial government expects the service to cover the entire province by next year.

The latest timetable updates an earlier plan that targeted an October rollout. When the program was first announced in July, nine ambulances had been prepared while the province was still establishing its centralized emergency hotline and training personnel.

A subsequent provincial government announcement said 30 ambulances would initially be dispatched to the Fourth District, with the fleet eventually expanding to at least 40 units.

The program is intended to provide faster access to emergency medical transportation, particularly for residents who need immediate assistance in reaching hospitals.
