BIÑAN CITY, Laguna — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office IV-A is preparing to open a regional warehouse here to strengthen relief operations across Calabarzon.

According to the regional office, the facility can store an estimated 300,000 family food packs and 50,000 non-food items, including hygiene and sleeping kits.

The additional storage capacity is expected to help the agency dispatch emergency supplies more quickly to communities affected by calamities in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.

DSWD IV-A said Calabarzon has 75 satellite warehouses supporting the delivery of relief assistance. The new regional facility is expected to reinforce this network and support the replenishment of supplies during emergencies.

The DSWD has not yet announced the warehouse’s opening date.
