2 women stabbed in separate incidents




Two women were stabbed in separate incidents in Cavite and Ilocos Norte on Saturday, leaving one dead and another injured, police said.
In Dasmariñas City, Cavite, a woman was fatally stabbed following an altercation in Barangay Salawag at around 7:30 p.m.
According to a Police Regional Office 4A report, the victim was buying food near her residence in Sitio Malabon when the suspect approached and confronted her.
A verbal altercation ensued before the suspect allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the victim.
Police said the two had an existing dispute stemming from an altercation the previous day.
The victim died following the attack, while the suspect remained at large. Investigators have activated a tracker team and are reviewing CCTV footage near the crime scene as follow-up operations continue.
In Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, an 89-year-old businesswoman was stabbed inside her residence by a 23-year-old man who allegedly demanded money from her.
Police said the victim was inside the second-floor comfort room of her residence at around 8:45 p.m. when the suspect suddenly appeared and allegedly asked her for money.
The suspect allegedly stabbed the woman before proceeding to her ground-floor room, where he reportedly searched for money.
Despite her injuries, the victim managed to reach her room, where her sibling found her bleeding heavily.
The suspect reportedly fled through the rooftop but was later arrested by responding police officers.
The victim sustained stab wounds to her neck, head and forehead. She was taken by Municipal Health Office personnel to the Gov. Roque B. Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital in Laoag City for treatment.
Police are continuing their investigation into both incidents.
