BAIC Philippines has introduced a wider warranty and roadside assistance package for its vehicles as the company expands its new-energy lineup and dealer presence in the country.

The updated coverage gives every BAIC vehicle sold in the Philippines a five-year or 150,000-kilometer general warranty, whichever comes first. It covers major vehicle components against manufacturing defects.

BAIC’s new-energy vehicles also receive an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for the high-voltage battery. The limit applies to whichever comes first.

Battery life and replacement cost are among the concerns raised by motorists who plan to shift to an electrified vehicle. The longer coverage gives buyers more protection from possible manufacturing issues during the first several years of ownership.

Each new BAIC purchase also comes with three years of roadside assistance at no additional cost. The service covers common problems such as a flat tire, battery trouble and towing needs.

BAIC announced the new ownership package during the fifth leg of UAAGI On the Move at the Fashion Hall Atrium of SM Megamall. The event also gave visitors a closer look at the brand’s electrified sport utility vehicle range.

The display included the B30e Dune, B40e Trailmaster rEV and B60e Beaumont rEV. The three models use different forms of electrified power.

The B30e Dune is a hybrid SUV that uses gasoline and electric power to drive the wheels. Its 4x4 version produces up to 409 PS and 685 Newton-meters of torque. It also has 215 millimeters of ground clearance, an intelligent all-wheel drive system and seven selectable drive modes.

The five-seat cabin has a panoramic sunroof and a 14.6-inch infotainment display. Driver aids include adaptive cruise control, lane assistance and a 360-degree camera.

Prices start at P1.488 million for the B30e Dune 4x2 and P1.798 million for the 4x4.

The B40e Trailmaster rEV and B60e Beaumont rEV use range-extender technology. Their electric motors drive the wheels, while a gasoline engine works as a generator when the battery needs additional energy.

The B40e Trailmaster rEV starts at P2.838 million. BAIC Philippines said the model holds the top sales position in its segment worldwide, based on recent data from automotive research company MarkLines.

The larger B60e Beaumont rEV produces about 550 horsepower and starts at P3.498 million. BAIC brand head Timothy Sytin said the vehicle offers the size and comfort usually associated with models that cost more than P5 million.

BAIC is part of United Asia Automotive Group Inc., which handles several vehicle brands in the Philippines. UAAGI has a network of more than 131 dealerships nationwide.

BAIC said its service network will continue to grow alongside its local dealer footprint. Authorized service centers provide access to trained technicians and genuine replacement parts.

The added warranty coverage comes as BAIC places greater emphasis on electrified SUVs in the local market. Buyers now receive the same five-year general warranty across the range, while owners of eligible new-energy models gain separate long-term protection for the high-voltage battery.
