Filipinos have long had a soft spot for chicken, and McDonald’s Philippines has found a way to turn that love into one of the biggest growth stories on its menu.

Chicken McDo has grown into a major sales driver for the brand, prompting McDonald’s Philippines in 2023 to put greater focus on the size and quality of its chicken. The goal was simple: give customers a more satisfying chicken experience while staying true to the value that Filipinos look for in an everyday meal.

That commitment to serving bigger, tastier chicken continued this year in August, when McDonald’s Philippines brought back its crowd-pleasing Mega Meals, giving protein-loving customers more food to enjoy without having to spend too much.

Starting at P195, the Mega Meals combined a piece of Chicken McDo with another filling favorite, rice, a drink and a Plain Sundae. Diners could choose from Chicken McDo with fries, Mushroom Pepper Steak, Crispy Chicken Fillet or Chicken Fillet Ala King. Spicy Chicken McDo was also available as a Mega Meal during regular hours.

The combinations built on the brand’s effort to give customers more ways to enjoy their favorite chicken. Those looking for a lower-priced option could also order the combinations without the sundae, starting at P158, while the classic 1-pc. Chicken McDo with rice and a regular drink remained available starting at P99.

“Our customers and fans loved the Chicken McDo combos we launched last June which gave them more fill and more satisfaction with the addition of more protein to their Chicken McDo meals. Now, we’re providing more options with our new Mega Meals, completing the meal experience with our delicious dessert. This is another napakasulit win that everyone can ‘tastify’ about,” said NJ Caballar-Azurin, Senior Brand Manager for McDonald’s Philippines.

Available through dine-in, take-out, drive-thru and delivery via McDelivery, GrabFood and foodpanda, the Mega Meals showed how McDonald’s Philippines continues to grow its chicken offering around what Filipino diners value most: generous portions, familiar flavors and sulit satisfaction.
