SM Megamall opens direct EDSA busway link

Commuters using the EDSA Bus Carousel can now access SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City directly through an elevated walkway linking the busway station to the mall.
The SM Megamall EDSA Busway Concourse, which opened in April, connects the EDSA Bus Carousel’s SM Megamall station to Building A, eliminating the need for passengers to cross the busy highway to reach the mall.
The weather-protected walkway has escalators and elevators to provide access for senior citizens, pregnant women, persons with disabilities and other commuters.
The link serves passengers traveling northbound to Monumento and southbound to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.
The project was developed by SM Supermalls in coordination with the Department of Transportation.
SM Megamall is the second SM mall along the EDSA Busway to have a direct pedestrian connection, following SM North EDSA.
The EDSA Bus Carousel carries more than 170,000 passengers daily, according to SM Supermalls. The operator said the direct link is intended to improve access between the busway and nearby commercial establishments.
