Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the inauguration of the city’s new Crematory and Interment Building at Tugatog Public Cemetery on Lascano Street in Barangay Tugatog as part of municipal preparations for Undas 2026.

The unveiling ceremony began with a Holy Mass ahead of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, followed by the blessing of 51 urns containing cremated remains. Local officials confirmed that 20 of the remains were processed through the local government’s free cremation program for indigent families.

Occupying a 417.50-square-meter lot, the new municipal complex consists of an administrative building and a primary crematory and interment facility.

The administrative wing includes operational offices, a conference area, storage, staff facilities, and a public waiting porch.

The crematory structure houses two viewing chapels with a central transition zone, a service area, and an indoor waiting room designed for memorial gatherings.

“We continue to improve our facilities to meet the needs of our citizens,” Sandoval said. “Proper preparation and coordination ensure that municipal services are delivered with care and compassion for every Malabueño household.”

The project marks the second major cemetery infrastructure development delivered by the city ahead of the annual holiday rush. On 21 October 2025, municipal officials opened the initial phase of The Risen Christ Hall, a multi-story, apartment-style tomb structure containing 360 niches.
