Imagine waking up to a view of Siargao Island’s famous Cloud 9 wave break right on your doorstep. Now stop imagining and start experiencing it with the opening of Hue Hotels and Resorts Siargao. Only the third resort after Boracay and Puerto Princesa, Hue Siargao brings an elevated stay to the Philippines’ surfing capital.
Opened last 27 July, Hue Siargao is the brainchild of siblings Dennis and Dexter Lee, who admitted that the idea of establishing Hue resorts came from the brothers’ earlier stays at Siargao. Dexter, who is an avid surfer, shared that he and Dennis actually wanted to build the first Hue Resort in Siargao thanks to Siargao’s natural beauty and sense of community.
“There’s a very strong sense of community here. I really hope that our guests will be able to experience it when they stay in our resort. Siargao, I think, is the epitome of the Filipino culture, which is warm and welcoming,” Dexter said during an interview.
“It’s really the people who welcomed us here. That is why we’re inspired by Siargao’s landscape and seascapes, and we wanted to share that with our guests and showcase that in our property,” added Dennis.
From design choices to material elements, the brother’s deep respect and love for Siargao can be experienced throughout the resort. Curved and wavy contemporary structures harken to the movement of the island’s waves and function as wind breakers, while natural elements like bamboo and nipa tie the resort back to the island and its humble roots.
Hue Siargao boasts 33 bespoke accommodations designed to suit the needs of every discerning guest. Guests can choose from Deluxe Garden, Deluxe Seaview, Garden Casitas with pool or Seaview Casitas, and Seaview Casitas with pool. “We purposefully built the resort to be no taller than a coconut tree; this way, we preserve the feel of the island and everybody’s good view of the Pacific Ocean,” shared Dexter.
Beyond the rooms, Hue Siargao has two infinity pools, one for resort guests and a unique cave pool for walk-in visitors, perfect for a break from the surf. There is also a well-equipped gym fitted with the latest machines, a surf board trainer, a Pilates studio, and a recovery room kitted with saunas and ice plunges available not just for in-house guests but are also available for members or walk-ins. For travelers with kids, Hue Siargao also has an indoor playground for kids, the first of its kind in Siargao.
With the growing ability to work remotely and the rise of digital nomads, Hue Siargao offers a cozy co-working lounge complete with leasable office and meeting spaces for travelers who chase the balance of work and leisure.
With Siargao also becoming known for its exciting food scene, Hue Siargao offers a dining venue like no other at Dayana Restaurant and Bar. Inspired and built around a living “dalakit” or banyan tree and serving a menu that revolves around the bounty of the Pacific Ocean, the restaurant is one of the highest points in the property, giving diners an unobstructed view over Cloud 9.
“We wanted our concept to feature coastal fare. A lot of the inspiration behind our dishes came from the fact that our ingredients are sourced fresh from the sea and from around the island of Siargao,” shared Hue Resorts and Hotel Group Manager, Alec Yatco.
The best views on the resort, however, can be seen atop its roof deck, which gives a 360-degree view over the Cloud 9 surf break and the surrounding beaches, perfect for events which bring guests closer to the Siargao’s magical experience.
