A total of 6,132 beneficiaries from various barangays in Piddig, Ilocos Norte received rice assistance under the national government’s Food Assistance Program.
The distribution was held with Mayor Georgina S. Guillen represented by SB Member Nicole Guillen Chua, as the municipal government continued efforts to provide assistance to families in need.
The first tranche of the rice assistance was funded by the national government under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
To expand the assistance, the Local Government of Piddig also allocated funds for a second tranche from its P5-million Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), according to the municipal government.
The program was carried out through coordination between the national and local governments, providing rice assistance to thousands of Piddigueños to help address their daily food needs.
