A high-value individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pio Del Pilar, Makati City, on Friday afternoon.
The suspect was identified as alias Mata, 35, unemployed and a resident of Barangay 172, Caloocan City.
At about 4:35 p.m., operatives the Makati City Police Station's Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a targeted anti-illegal drug operation along San Antonio Street, Barangay Pio Del Pilar.
An undercover officer acting as a poseur-buyer transacted with the suspect for the purchase of illegal drugs amounting to P70,000.00. Upon the consummation of the deal, back-up operatives immediately moved in and effected the arrest.
During the operation, law enforcers seized two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 50 grams, with an estimated standard drug price value of P340,000.00.
Operatives also recovered the buy-bust money consisting of a genuine P500 bill, 139 pieces of P500 boodle money, and an eco-bag used to transport the contraband.
The suspect was brought to the Makati City Police Station for proper documentation.
Formal complaints for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being finalized for inquest proceedings before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
