  • A 52-year-old passenger aboard M/V 2GO Masikap was medically evacuated (medevac) by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) after the former lost consciousness while at sea in Negros Occidental on 15 August 2026.

According to PCG, the passenger was aboard the M/V 2GO Masikap that was approximately one nautical mile from BREDCO Port, Bacolod City.

The PCG reported that arounnd 6:35 AM, Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Bacolod received a report of an unaccompanied passenger traveling from Manila to Cagayan de Oro who required immediate medical assistance.

PCG personnel responded aboard M/T Tug Arcturus and reached M/V 2GO Masikap. The passenger was transferred to the tugboat for transport to BREDCO Port. While en route, he became unresponsive and stopped breathing, prompting PCG personnel to perform CPR.

The patient was turned over to the standby City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) medical team at BREDCO Port and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.

The operation demonstrates the PCG’s commitment to Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) program through timely emergency response and coordinated efforts to protect lives at sea.
