Authorities have arrested the alleged mastermind of a massive illegal recruitment scheme that defrauded at least 1,700 aspiring overseas Filipino workers (OFW) out of hundreds of millions of pesos.
Police identified the suspect as Mazhoor Khusin, also known as "Maz," an official of ALJU International Manpower Services Inc. Operatives from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Project 4 Station arrested Khusin at his residence in Mexico, Pampanga.
Investigators said that between 2023 and 2024, Khusin and his accomplices promised victims jobs in Poland, Lithuania and the Czech Republic as factory workers, farmers, and hotel staff, touting monthly salaries of up to P90,000.
