Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will take the 2026 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup to the Batangas Racing Circuit on 15 August, where drivers will race on one of the country’s oldest permanent tracks for the first time this season. The races are open to the public and admission is free.

Race Weekend 3 marks the TGR Philippine Cup’s first visit to BRC, the country’s oldest permanent car racetrack.

Fans can expect thrilling wheel-to-wheel action in this technical racetrack where driver skill will be put to the test. Witness the Super Sporting, Sporting and Legacy classes go head-to-head in the Vios one-make racecar (OMR), and the Tamaraw class in the Tamaraw OMR.

The Vios OMRs will continue to use E20 fuel, a 20 percent bio-ethanol blend, while the Tamaraw OMRs will continue to be powered by B5 fuel, a 5 percent coco-biodiesel blend.

This initiative to use low-carbon biofuels began in the previous race weekend and aims to support national energy security and the development of biofuel supply chains through multi-stakeholder collaboration including the agricultural sector.

Sherwin Chua-Lim, Toyota Motor Philippines senior vice president for marketing, said the unfamiliar circuit should give the competitors a demanding weekend.

He added that the series continues to give racers a place to develop while introducing more people to motorsport.

“As a new track for our Vios OMRs and Tamaraw OMRs, BRC will be an exciting challenge for our drivers. Our aim at TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has always been to provide opportunities for racers to push the limits for better and to bring racing closer to different car communities,” shared TMP senior vice president for Marketing Sherwin Chua-Lim.

“We hope this new racetrack will reignite the passion of our racers and existing fans, and attract the interest of people getting into motorsports.”

Josephine Villanueva, TMP first vice president for corporate affairs, said the races also provide a practical setting to observe how higher biofuel blends perform. Toyota links the effort to wider discussions on energy security and the country’s biofuel supply.

“We have received positive feedback from the racers on how biodiesel and bioethanol blend fuels perform in extreme conditions, so we are further studying the feasibility of continuing the use of these low-carbon fuels for our succeeding motorsports events,” shared TMP first vice president for Corporate Affairs Josephine Villanueva.

“While we continue to face energy security issues in the country, we hope this initiative will result in improved knowledge on the positive benefits of higher biofuel blends for wider use of motorists.”
