As TV5’s inspirational drama “My Bespren Emman” enters its second book, lead star JM De Guzman shared that the series has transformed more than just his career—it has also deepened his personal relationship with God.

The Kapamilya actor revealed that accepting the role came at a time when he was struggling with his faith. What began as another acting project eventually became a meaningful spiritual experience that helped him reconnect with God on a deeper level.

“Sobrang thankful ko simula ng matanggap ko ’tong project na to. Before ko kasi siyang matanggap, nag-struggle kasi ako sa spiritual life and spiritual connection kay God. Pero habang ginagawa namin ’to, kinakausap-kausap ko si Emman (God) and since I prayed for the role.”

According to JM, preparing for the series inspired him to develop a daily routine of prayer and meditation—practices that have remained part of his life even outside the set.

“Nagme-meditate talaga ako to pray and para magkaroon rin ng connection kay God. And I do it every day before shoot, and kung nasa bahay lang, before I sleep. Masarap siya sa pakiramdam, nagkakaroon ako ng clarity.”

For the actor, portraying a character anchored in faith has become more than a performance. It has served as a constant reminder to slow down, reflect, and nurture his spiritual life amid the demands of show business.

With “My Bespren Emman” beginning its second chapter, JM hopes viewers will continue to find inspiration in the series while discovering, just as he did, that faith can become a source of strength, healing, and clarity through life’s challenges.
