  • The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported Wednesday the arrest of two suspects involved in robbery of auto parts with an estimated value of P40,000 in Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

The suspects were identified as alias “Juan,” 20 years old, resident of Antipolo City, and alias “Paul,” 37 years old, resident of Brgy. Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

Report from Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) on Tuesday (4 August) at 11:00 p.m revealed that the owner of a vape shop at Longanese St., St. Charbel 1, Brgy. Tandang Sora, Quezon City, noticed suspicious activity while checking the storage area of his establishment.

"This prompted him to become more watchful and vigilant over the premises of his rented establishment," the police report to QCPD said.

The victim, however, reportedly saw one of the suspects emerging from the storage area carrying a cement sack loaded onto a wooden cart on early morning of Wednesday at around 2:30 a.m.

"Suspecting that the items were stolen, he [victim] discreetly followed the suspect, who proceeded to a nearby junk shop," police report stated.

"Upon reaching the area, the victim immediately sought assistance from personnel of PS 3, who were patrolling in the area, which resulted in the arrest of alias “Juan” and his cohort, alias “Paul ,” at around 3:00 AM on August 5, 2026," it added.

During the inquiry of Talipapa police, alias “Juan” revealed the participation of alias “Paul ,” claiming that the latter had ordered and directed him to commit the crime.

Recovered from the suspects were a dismantled bumper support valued at P30,000, a catalytic exhaust valued at P10,000, and a cement sack used to transport the stolen items.

Further investigation also revealed that the suspects were employees of the landlord of the establishment being rented by the victim.

Verification, meanwhile, disclosed that alias “Paul ” had a previous record for violation of P.D. 1602 (Illegal Gambling).

According to QCPD, appropriate charges for Robbery (Akyat-Bahay) are being prepared for filing against the arrested suspects before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office through inquest proceedings.
