A 57-year-old businessman wanted in 11 cases for violating Batas Pambansa Blg. 22, or the Bouncing Checks Law, was arrested during a warrant operation in San Juan City on Tuesday.

The arrest was carried out at around 1:30 p.m. along Santolan Road corner P. Guevarra Street in Barangay Corazon de Jesus by personnel from the Warrant and Subpoena Section of the San Juan City Police Station.

The warrant of arrest, issued by the Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 57 on 10 July 2018, carries a recommended bail of P1.09 million.

National Capital Region Police Office Director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the arrest reflects the continuing efforts of Metro Manila police units to track down fugitives and bring them before the courts.

"Our commitment to warrant enforcement remains constant. NCRPO units will continue locating wanted persons and ensuring they face the judicial process," Aberin said.

After processing, the suspect will undergo a medical examination at the San Juan Medical Center before being turned over to the San Juan City Police Station custodial facility for temporary detention pending further court proceedings.
