A lot of Sarah Geronimo's fans rejoiced when they saw clips and photos of the Popstar's recent birthday celebration where her dad Delfin and mommy Divine were present.
"Sobra akong masayang-masaya (I'm so happy) because I got to do this with dearest person in my life, siyempre ang tatay ko at nanay ko (of course, my dad and mom). Kasama ko ang tatay ko ngayon, (I'm with my dad now), sharing beautiful music together. Performing together is such a dream come true," Geronimo said in a video.
The videos and photos brought happy tears for Geronimo's fans who, for the longest time, prayed for their idol's reunion with her mom.
"Family is love, happy birthday Sarah wish u all the best, god bless!"
"A good hearted person deserves more blessings and peace in life. Happiest birthday idol Sarah Geronimo."
"Happy for you idol SG. Literally a happy birthday to you."
"It's really about time. Life is too short to push away our loved ones. Sarah never spoke badly about her parents. She's the one who always reaches out to them even though she's actually the breadwinner of the family and has things to be proud of. That says a lot about her character."
Vice Ganda apologizes for cheap joke shenanigans
Acknowledging madlang pipol's collective dismay over what appeared as laughingly cheap jokes she cracked at the Memerimar skit, Vice Ganda found herself apologizing for her comic shenanigans on the weekend episode of It Showtime.
“Nakarating po sa aming kaalaman na may mga madlang pipol po na hindi nagustuhan o na offend sa ilan sa aming jokes o biruan dito sa Showtime pati na rin sa ginagawa namin sa Memerimar. (It has come to our attention that the public did not like or was offended with some of our jokes or comic banter on It's Showtime includingwhat we do in Memerimar). They found the jokes offensive or insensitive," she said before the show wrapped up.
"The last thing we want is to displease you o hindi mapasaya ang aming Madlang pipol.
Kaya naman ina-acknowledge ang inyong sentimyento at humihingi po kami ng paumanhin sa inyo, and we will try to do better. Maraming maraming salamat po (The last thing we want is to displease you or not to make our public happy. That's why we acknowledge your sentiments, and we ask for your forgiveness, and we will try to do better. Thank you very much)," she continued.
Vice Ganda's apology drew mixed reaction from netizens.
"Yeah, right? And there wasn’t even a sorry for the person he spat water on. It’s obvious he didn’t like it but, you know, the show must go on and he just didn’t want to be embarrassed. I hope he apologizes to her because it was really offensive, disrespectful and kind of racist to say ‘got muddy,” one guy commented.
"Sorry about the feelings and the reaction. It's not really an apology for his actions. There's a difference. I mean, I love Vice, but he didn’t admit that what he did was wrong," one fan opined.
Believing she did the right thing, a fan said: "Yes it's offensive nga naman, but we can’t deny the fact that Meme is the captain of the ship, sobrang di na nya din alam ang tamang pagpapatawa para lang din talaga maging havey ang skits... Coz we all know hindi nakakatawa ang skits without her. Sa sobrang dami nadin kase ng ginagawa nya at ginagampanan nya. Ang importante, Inacknowledge nya pagkakamali nya." (Yes, it's offensive really, but we can't deny the fact that Meme is the captain of the ship, she did not know the right humor to make the joke click...because we all know the skits are not funny without her. It's because of the many things she's doing and many roles she's playing. What's important is she acknowledged her mistake).
