Music fans were left disappointed as the highly anticipated Enigma Music City festival was abruptly canceled just two days before its scheduled date. Organizers House Enigma Events and Marketing made the announcement late Thursday, 6 February, citing unforeseen circumstances that made it impossible to push through with the event.
The festival, set to take place on 8 February at Bridgetowne Open Grounds in Pasig City, had promised an exciting lineup headlined by Sarah Geronimo, alongside top OPM artists James Reid, Arthur Nery, Barbie Almalbis, Adie, and The Juans. Other performers included Ace Banzuelo, Janine Tenoso, Over October, Alamat, Rob Deniel, Paul Pablo, Lo Ki, and The Queens of Drag PH Season 3.
In its official statement, House Enigma expressed regret over the cancellation:
"House Enigma deeply apologizes to all the fans, sponsors, and event partners who have been looking forward to this event. While we made every effort to push through, circumstances beyond our control have led to this difficult decision."
Sarah Geronimo, who was set to headline the festival, took to Instagram Stories to address her fans, known as Popsters, sharing her sadness over the last-minute cancellation.
"Hello Popsters! Kamusta kayo? I'm sad that Enigma Music City won't be happening. Excited pa naman ako to share this night of music with all of you.
I know many of you made plans, traveled, and went out of your way to be there, and for that, I'm grateful.
I can't wait for the day we get to share the stage again, and I'm so excited to bring you new music. Until then, please take care, and I'll see you soon."
