The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported the arrest of a Palestinian national involved in stealing cash from a hotel along Timog Avenue in Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Ham,” a 36-year-old resident of Barangay Bahay Toro, Quezon City.
Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect entered a café inside the hotel at around 11:06 p.m. on Thursday, where he took a cash bag and an empty cash box without the knowledge or consent of the 24-year-old male cashier.
“The incident was immediately detected by a security guard through the hotel's CCTV monitoring system, prompting security personnel to intercept the suspect at the establishment's exit,” the QCPD report said.
Recovered from the suspect were P5,020 in cash, consisting of various peso bills and coins, a cash bag, an empty cash box, and a backpack.
Personnel from the Kamuning Police Station immediately responded to the scene and found the suspect already in the custody of the hotel's security personnel.
Further verification revealed that the arrested Palestinian national has previous criminal records for estafa, unjust vexation, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or their agents, and using a fictitious name and concealing his true name in October 2025, as well as theft in May 2026.
“The suspect will be charged for Theft before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office,” QCPD said.
