Netflix Philippines is bringing viewers into the heart of a complicated Filipino family story with the reveal of the official key art for Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon, its much-awaited family dramedy featuring some of the country’s most celebrated performers.
Leading the cast are award-winning actresses Jodi Sta. Maria and Agot Isidro, who portray an estranged mother and daughter whose fractured relationship becomes the emotional core of the film. The newly released artwork offers a glimpse of a seemingly joyful family gathering by the beach — an image that captures the warmth of togetherness while quietly suggesting unresolved conflicts beneath the surface.
Directed by Cholo H. Laurel, Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon follows Joanne “Jo” (Sta. Maria), a successful television writer preparing for a major turning point in her career. However, her carefully built life is disrupted when her mother returns, forcing her to revisit painful memories and confront the childhood experiences that have shaped who she has become.
Sta. Maria describes Jo as a determined and accomplished woman whose strength raises deeper questions about the experiences that molded her. “She’s accomplished, she’s intelligent, she’s very strong, but the question is ‘why’? What motivated this character to be the way she is?” she shared.
Meanwhile, Isidro takes on the role of Paz, a powerful yet mysterious woman whose unexpected homecoming brings long-hidden family issues back into the spotlight. After years spent away in New York, Paz’s return leaves Jo searching for answers about the secrets and choices that defined their complicated past.
Beyond a traditional family reunion story, the film explores the realities of Filipino families — their imperfections, conflicts, hidden wounds, and the bonds that continue to bring them together despite everything they have endured. It highlights how personal struggles and family dynamics can shape relationships across generations.
During Netflix Philippines’ Next on Netflix event, Laurel spoke about the creative freedom that allowed the team to fully capture the film’s vision, emphasizing the importance of staying true to the story’s emotional depth.
Joining Sta. Maria and Isidro is an ensemble cast featuring Gabriel Lazaro, Gardo Versoza, Ruby Ruiz, RK Bagatsing, Mitch Valdez and Angel Aquino. Together, they bring to life a narrative filled with heartfelt moments, unresolved tensions, unexpected humor and the lasting regrets and memories that come with family.
Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon promises an honest and emotional look at the chaos and comfort found within Filipino families — reminding audiences that even the most complicated relationships can still find their way back home.
