A 37-year-old man wanted for murder was arrested during the service of a warrant of arrest in Sitio Andarayan, Barangay Rizal, Alicia, Isabela, in the early hours of Wednesday, July 15.
Police identified the suspect only by the alias "Noli," a married and unemployed resident of Alicia, Isabela.
According to Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2), the operation was carried out at around 2 a.m. by the Tracker Team of the Cauayan Component City Police Station, serving as the lead unit, in coordination with the Alicia Municipal Police Station and other units under the Isabela Police Provincial Office.
Authorities served a warrant of arrest issued on July 14 by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 40, in Cauayan City, Isabela, for a murder case. The warrant carried no recommended bail.
Police said the suspect was considered armed and dangerous, prompting the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team of the Cauayan Component City Police Station to conduct a tactical approach that resulted in his arrest without incident.
During the operation, authorities seized four sachets containing suspected illegal drugs with an estimated total weight of about one kilogram and a standard drug price of approximately P6.8 million.
Also recovered were an Armscor shotgun loaded with five 12-gauge rounds, an Armscor caliber .45 pistol, assorted live ammunition, a hand grenade, a plastic replica grenade, a bolo, two glass tube pipes, two digital weighing scales, cash, and other items believed to be associated with illegal drug activities.
The suspect was taken to the Cauayan Component City Police Station for documentation, while the seized suspected illegal drugs and other evidence will undergo laboratory examination.
Authorities have yet to announce the filing of additional charges in connection with the suspected illegal drugs, firearms, and explosives recovered during the operation.
