KITCHEN has evolved into one of the home’s favorite gathering places.
From endless Pinterest boards to TikTok home tours and Instagram-worthy interiors, Filipino homeowners are finding inspiration everywhere. But today’s renovations are about more than following trends. More people are investing in homes that reflect how they live, work, entertain, and unwind, making thoughtful design and everyday functionality top priorities.
Among the spaces receiving the biggest attention are lighting and the kitchen. Once seen as purely practical features, both have become key design elements that influence not only a home’s appearance but also the way people experience their daily lives.
As more Filipinos build new homes, renovate existing ones, or move into condominium units, they’re looking for solutions that balance style, innovation, and long-term value. This growing demand has paved the way for brands like Futura Lights and Ferraza Kitchen, which aim to offer modern home essentials in one destination.
According to Jean Sanchez, co-owner of Moderno Home Depot, the expansion into lighting and kitchen solutions came from understanding what homeowners needed most.
“We saw an opportunity to make home building and renovation more convenient by offering quality solutions across more areas of the home. Instead of going to different suppliers, customers can now find products they trust in one place.”
Lighting beyond illumination
Lighting has become one of the most transformative elements in home design. Beyond simply brightening a room, it helps create atmosphere, improves productivity in workspaces, and highlights architectural details that give a home its character.
Sanchez believes social media has played a significant role in changing how Filipinos approach interior design.
“I think social media has really changed the way people design their homes,” Sanchez says. “Homeowners are more design-conscious now because they’re constantly seeing inspiration online, so they usually already have a specific look they’re trying to achieve.”
As a result, homeowners are placing greater importance on choosing lighting that complements both their lifestyle and their personal design preferences.
Kitchens designed for everyday living
The kitchen has also evolved into one of the home’s most important gathering spaces. No longer tucked away as a purely functional area, it now serves as a place where families cook together, entertain guests, and create everyday memories.
This shift has made homeowners more selective when choosing kitchen fixtures and appliances, with greater emphasis on products that combine performance, efficiency, and thoughtful design.
“We believe the kitchen should be more about functionality,” Sanchez explains. “Our focus is on smart features and practical innovations that make every day cooking easier.”
Ferraza Kitchen offers a range of products, including gas stoves, hobs, range hoods, sinks, faucets, and other kitchen essentials designed to simplify daily routines while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic. Its showroom also allows customers to compare products firsthand, helping them make more informed decisions before investing in their homes.
As Filipino homeowners continue to prioritize spaces that are both beautiful and practical, lighting and kitchen design are proving to be more than finishing touches — they’ve become essential investments in creating homes that truly support modern living.
