Concert era moves South: 5 things to know about SM Seaside Cebu Arena

Cebu is entering a new era of entertainment.

Rising within the SM Seaside Complex, the SM Seaside Cebu Arena is set to become more than a venue — it is a destination where architecture, lifestyle, technology, and unforgettable experiences come together.

Designed to bring world-class events closer to Filipino audiences, the arena represents a new chapter for Cebu as a growing hub for entertainment and tourism. Here are five things to know about the city’s newest landmark.

1. Cebu’s new landmark

The SM Seaside Cebu Arena is set to redefine the city’s entertainment landscape with a world-class venue designed for concerts, sports events and major gatherings.

Inspired by movement and energy, its distinctive wave-shaped façade reflects its role as an architectural “Beacon” — a symbol of Cebu’s continued growth and its emergence as a destination for global experiences.

Opening in 2026, the seven-storey arena will accommodate up to 25,000 guests, making it one of the largest indoor arenas in the Philippines.

2. Global entertainment closer to home

The arrival of the SM Seaside Cebu Arena expands the country’s entertainment map beyond Metro Manila, giving fans in the Visayas and nearby regions greater access to major events.

SM Prime Holdings Inc. aims to position Cebu as a key stop on the international touring circuit, attracting top-tier global performers while also celebrating artists with strong Filipino connections.

With both the SM Mall of Asia Arena and SM Seaside Cebu Arena, SM continues to build a stronger network of entertainment destinations for Filipino audiences.

3. Designed for the next generation of fans

Modern entertainment is no longer just about watching a show — it’s about experiencing it.

The SM Seaside Cebu Arena was created with today’s fans in mind, featuring a flexible event bowl that can transform for massive concerts, sporting events, and more intimate gatherings.

Its advanced center-hung display and immersive LED ribbon boards create a 360-degree viewing experience, ensuring every seat feels connected to the action.

With digital infrastructure and 5G connectivity, the venue is built for a future where technology and live experiences come together.

4. Creates a complete lifestyle destination

The best experiences begin before the main event and continue after the lights go down.

Located within the SM Seaside Complex, the arena gives guests access to a complete lifestyle ecosystem featuring retail, dining, leisure, and hospitality experiences.

Whether it’s a concert weekend with friends, a family day out, or a destination trip built around a major event, the arena transforms every visit into a bigger experience.

Its accessibility and proximity to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport further strengthen Cebu’s appeal as a regional destination for entertainment and tourism.

5. Set to become the stage for Cebu’s biggest moments

The SM Seaside Cebu Arena is already building its legacy with the launch of its major events calendar through the “BINI Signals World Tour,” featuring one of the Philippines’ biggest P-pop acts. The inaugural show became an instant milestone, selling out within a week of ticket release.

More exciting performances are set to follow, including shows from IV of Spades, TJ Monterde, KZ Tandingan, Hillsong Worship, and LANY.

As Cebu continues to evolve, the SM Seaside Cebu Arena stands as a symbol of what’s next — a landmark built for iconic performances, shared experiences, and memories that last beyond the final encore.
