Senator Christopher “Bong” Go urged the newly elected national officers of The Fraternal Order of Eagles – Philippine Eagles, Inc. to use their positions to serve communities, strengthen brotherhood, and remain responsive to people in need.

Go delivered the message during the installation and oath-taking ceremony of the organization’s newly elected national officers for Eagle Year 2026 to 2028, held on Thursday, 9 July, at Le Pavillon in Pasay City.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles – Philippine Eagles, Inc., as the first Philippine-born fraternal socio-civic organization, gathered its members, leaders, families, and guests for the formal turnover to its new national leadership. The event followed the organization’s first unified national election, where members came together to choose leaders for the next two years.

Go congratulated the entire brotherhood, including outgoing officers, newly elected national officers, and members who attended the ceremony. He also extended his greetings to National President Eagle Agaton D. Javier Jr., who is set to lead the organization during the next Eagle Years.

“I also extend my warm greetings to National President Eagle Agaton D. Javier Jr., who will lead our organization in the next two years. Your election carries trust, responsibility, and the hope of your brotherhood as you begin this new chapter of service,” Go said.

Among the newly elected national officers are Eagle Soliven S. Teo, Executive National Vice President; Eagle Joseph Ryan C. Jocson, Vice President for Luzon; Eagle Noel M. Jumawan, Vice President for Visayas; and Eagle Manuel J. Nuyad, Vice President for Mindanao.

The Board of Trustees is composed of Eagle Ronaldo G. Borja, Eagle Reynaldo S. Diego, Eagle Clef A. Gonadan, and Eagle Reymond Allan O. Santos as Trustees for Luzon; Eagle Bronson Ng. Peña and Eagle Fritz M. Salazar as Trustees for Visayas; and Eagle Eric E. Daabay, Eagle Tyrrone Christopher T. Gayta, and Eagle Leonardo B. Nonan Jr. as Trustees for Mindanao.

Also present during the ceremony were Outgoing President Eagle Ronald Delos Santos, Dinagat Islands Governor Nilo Demerey and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.

The senator said the ceremony was not merely a formal gathering, but a reminder of the responsibility that comes with leadership in a socio-civic organization.

“Alam ko po na para sa ating samahan, hindi ito ordinaryong pagtitipon lamang. Ito ay panunumpa sa tungkulin, pagtanggap ng responsibilidad, at pagpapatuloy ng ating adbokasiya bilang isang fraternal socio-civic organization,” he said.

Go also highlighted the organization’s guiding principle, “Service Through Strong Brotherhood,” saying it reflects the kind of service that reaches beyond membership and ceremony.

“Brotherhood is not only about belonging to a group. It is about showing up for others, carrying one another through difficult times, and working together for people who need help,” Go said.

He recognized the work of the Eagles in communities, noting that socio-civic service often happens quietly and without public attention.

“Hindi kayo bahagi ng gobyerno, pero tumutulong kayo sa komunidad. Hindi kayo laging nasa balita, pero may mga taong natutulungan. Hindi kailangan ng camera para mag-abot ng tulong. Hindi kailangan ng palakpak para gumawa ng tama,” Go said.

Addressing the new officers, Go said leadership must be exercised with humility, firmness, and compassion, especially in a large organization composed of members with different views and experiences.

“To the newly elected National Officers, especially National President Eagle Agaton D. Javier Jr., may you lead with humility, firmness, and compassion. Leadership is never easy, especially in a large organization with many members, different views, and different experiences,” he said.

Go added that leadership is tested not by status, but by the ability to listen, decide fairly, and help others.

“To the new officers, be leaders who are easy to approach. Be leaders who know how to listen. Be leaders who can explain clearly, decide fairly, and serve without arrogance. Leadership is not measured by how many people follow you, but by how many people are helped because you chose to lead well,” he said.

The senator also related the Eagles’ community service work to his own public service advocacies, particularly the delivery of practical help to the poor, the sick, disaster victims, and those who need immediate assistance.

As part of this work, Go cited the Malasakit Centers program, which he has long pushed to bring medical assistance closer to poor and indigent patients.

“One of the programs I have long pushed for is the Malasakit Centers program. I am the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act No. 11463, or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which institutionalized Malasakit Centers across the country,” he said.

Go explained that Malasakit Centers serve as one-stop shops where patients may seek assistance to help reduce hospital expenses. He said there are now 167 Malasakit Centers nationwide.

According to the Department of Health, more than 17 million Filipinos have already been assisted through the program.

“For me, these are not just numbers. Behind every figure is a real patient, a real family, and a real story of someone who needed help at a painful and difficult time,” Go said.

He encouraged the members of the Eagles to continue their service in communities and to use the strength of their brotherhood to help more people.

“Kaya sa lahat ng Eagles na narito ngayon, ipagpatuloy po natin ang ating malasakit. Palawakin pa natin ang ating serbisyo. Gamitin natin ang lakas ng ating kapatiran para gumawa ng mas marami pang kabutihan sa ating mga komunidad,” he said.

Go closed his message by reminding the organization that public service and civic work should be done whenever there is an opportunity to help others.

Go congratulated The Fraternal Order of Eagles – Philippine Eagles, Inc. and its new leadership, expressing hope that the organization would continue serving communities through unity, brotherhood, and practical action.
