The Philippines hosted the Kiwanis International Convention 2026 for the first time, welcoming more than 1,200 Kiwanian leaders from 31 countries to Manila from 24 to 27 June marking the convention's return to the Asia-Pacific region after more than a decade.
Held at the Marriott Hotel Manila with support from the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the four-day gathering featured networking receptions, Asia-Pacific cultural showcases, regional recognition ceremonies, and membership development activities. Among the highlights were the Colors of ASPAC Recognition Night and the Kiwanis International Gala, which celebrated the organization's service initiatives and regional achievements.
The convention also underscored the Philippines' growing reputation as a destination for Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE), showcasing its capability to host large-scale international events. The event aligns with the country's "MICE Philippines: We Take Your Business to Heart" campaign, which promotes the Philippines as a competitive venue for global business gatherings.
Delegates participated in discussions on the Kiwanis Children's Fund, the Kiwanis Possibility Project, and Service Leadership Programs, which aim to expand opportunities for children while fostering leadership and civic engagement among young people worldwide. Mountaineer and executive coach Lei Wang, the first Asian woman to complete the Explorer's Grand Slam, also delivered a keynote address on leadership and resilience.
Tourism Promotions Board chief operating officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles said the successful staging of the convention demonstrates how international events can contribute to both tourism and community development.
"We are proud to have welcomed thousands of Kiwanian leaders, proving that meaningful travel goes hand-in-hand with strengthening communities and empowering future generations," Nograles said.
Kiwanis International is a global volunteer organization focused on improving the lives of children through community service projects and partnerships in communities around the world.
