GWM Philippines has appointed Ralph Descallar as its dealer network development director as the automaker prepares to add more outlets and improve aftersales coverage across the country.
Descallar will work with current and prospective dealer partners. He will identify areas for new dealerships and oversee standards for operations, service and customer support.
His appointment follows GWM Philippines’ strongest monthly sales result since it entered the local market. The company sold 112 vehicles nationwide in June 2026. That was 50 percent higher than the same month last year and its best monthly tally so far.
Sales received support from the recent arrival of the GWM Haval H7 and Haval H9 sport utility vehicles. The GWM Cannon pickup also remains among the models that the company expects to support demand as it adds dealerships in Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.
GWM Philippines operates under exclusive distributor Luxuriant Automotive Group Inc. (LAGI). The distributor plans to expand its dealer and service network as more models enter its local lineup.
GWM Philippines brand head Dax Avenido said the company wants to bring its vehicles and services closer to more customers. He said dealer expansion remains a priority as sales increase.
“We are pleased to welcome Ralph to the team, and we are confident that his expertise will help strengthen our partnerships and accelerate our nationwide expansion,” Avenido said.
Descallar brings experience in dealer development, operations and aftersales work. Before GWM, he served as director for network development and aftersales technical warranty and service at Astara Philippines. The company previously handled the local distribution of GAC, Peugeot, JMC and JAC Motors.
Descallar said he plans to work closely with present and future dealer partners as GWM adds more locations.
“Together, we aim to make GWM more accessible to Filipino customers while building strong and successful partnerships that will support the brand’s long-term vision,” he said.
The appointment gives GWM a dedicated executive for dealer growth at a time when the company is trying to turn its recent sales gains into a broader national presence.
