Following the momentous celebration of its 107th anniversary last month, the Rotary Club of Manila (RCM) held its first weekly membership meeting of the new Rotary year at the Fairmont Makati on July 9, 2026.
Director Michael Roxas introduced the visiting Rotarians and guests, while honoring the present Rotary dignitaries. Among the prominent leaders were RCM President Reginald Yu, District Governor Maria Rosa "Bing" Carrion, Past Rotary International Director Raffy Garcia, Past District Governor Joyce Ambray, Past District Governors Paco Atayde, Josie Ang, Ernest Yuyek, and Karen Tamayo, as well as District Governor-Elect Jun Pasion.
The event cheerfully commemorated the club's recent anniversary milestones and featured the presentation of key organizational reports. A major highlight of the meeting was honoring the 50 years of dedicated service of Jaime Laya. He was highly recognized for his half-century of contributions to financial and governance leadership, corporate and academic service, and his enduring legacy as a cultural champion.
The meeting concluded with an engaging open forum featuring guest speaker and former Cavite 4th District Representative Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga.
