Julia Garner is set to headline another high-profile television project after Apple TV+ announced Guilty Creatures, a new thriller series inspired by the true-crime book Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida by Mikita Brottman.
The three-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner will not only star in the series but also serve as an executive producer. Directed by I, Tonya filmmaker Craig Gillespie, the drama follows the disturbing story of two young lovers whose affair leads to murder, exploring the psychological and emotional consequences of living with their crime for nearly two decades.
Stuart Zicherman will serve as showrunner and executive producer, with Sarah DeLappe adapting the book for the screen. The series is produced by Tomorrow Studios, with Garner’s Alma Margo and Gillespie’s Fortunate Jack Productions also attached as executive producers.
The announcement adds to Apple TV+’s growing slate of original programming, which includes acclaimed titles such as Severance, Ted Lasso, The Studio and the Academy Award-winning film CODA.
