Philippine National Police (PNP) chief P/Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. on Friday commended police personnel following the peaceful conclusion of the three-day Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) rally in Quezon City and Manila.

Nartatez said the security operations reflected the professionalism of police officers deployed during the gathering.

The operations were conducted in line with the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. to maintain peace and public order while ensuring the protection of constitutional rights during public assemblies.

“The peaceful conclusion of the three-day rally reflects the professionalism, discipline and restraint demonstrated by our police personnel,” Nartatez said.

“I commend every officer who faithfully performed their duty while respecting the constitutional right to peaceful assembly. Their commitment to maintaining peace, ensuring public safety, and coordinating closely with local authorities and event organizers made this operation a success,” he added.

The INC oncluded its three-day rally on Thursday, 2 July, with an estimated 4,400 attendees on the final day.

The religious group initially gathered at the People Power Monument in Quezon City before transferring to Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila after the Quezon City government revoked its rally permit.

The demonstration was held in support of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, who is facing possible plunder charges over the alleged nondeclaration of campaign contributions.

INC spokesperson Edwil Zabala thanked police officers for securing the event and ensuring the safety of participants throughout the three-day assembly.
