Google has launched new AI-powered shopping features in the Gemini app in the Philippines, allowing users to search, compare, and buy products without leaving the chat.
The update lets users ask for shopping recommendations in natural language, whether they’re looking for gift ideas, comparing gadgets, choosing luggage, or shopping within a specific budget.
Gemini now provides shoppable product listings, comparison tables, prices from across the web, and links to retailers in a single response.
For visual searches, the app displays product images in a carousel, while comparison queries generate side-by-side tables highlighting details such as price, dimensions, weight, reviews, and other key specifications.
The new features are powered by Google’s Shopping Graph, which contains more than 60 billion product listings, with about 2 billion listings updated every hour, helping provide current pricing and availability.
Google said combining Gemini’s AI capabilities with Shopping Graph allows users to shop faster, compare products more easily, and make more informed purchasing decisions.
