QCPD cuts down on establishment violations

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported that it had intensified efforts to ensure that establishments within the city were following the various regulations and guidelines put in place for businesses.
Authorities said a total of 8,250 visitations were conducted throughout a period of 20 to 26 June under its Target Hardening Program, sought to increase the police force within such sectors.
In addition to cutting down on crime, the QCPD stated that they were keen on forming a close coordination between the local authorities and business owners.
Asides from business establishments, some officers were reportedly sent to junkshops where inspections were carried out in line with their directive for monitoring and enforcement.
It was noted that the police stations that had the most amount of establishment visitations was the Novaliches Police Station 4 where a total of 1,127 operations were conducted, while Eastwood Police Station 12 and Batasan Police 6 had 956 and 928, respectively.
“Through our sustained engagement with business establishments, we continue to strengthen our partnership with the community and enhance our collective efforts to prevent crime and maintain public safety through Quezon City,” said Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio.
The QCPD likewise urged the public to report any incidents of business owners and staff conducting suspicious activity within a particular institution.
Authorities also expressed support for the implementation by the local government of the Quezon City Helmet Ordinance as it helps them in their cause to cut down violations in establishments by urging riders to remove their helmets in buildings.
