PCSO extends community aid, backs horse racing development

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) continued its public service initiatives by extending medical assistance to a community in Camarines Sur while supporting the country's horse racing industry through the successful staging of the second leg of the 2026 Triple Crown Stakes Race.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, PCSO donated medicines worth P30,000 to Barangay Bel-Cruz in Lupi, Camarines Sur to help strengthen the barangay's healthcare services and improve access to basic medical support for residents.
The turnover, held on 11 June at the PCSO Conservatory Building, was led by Satellite Division Chief Dr. Rouel Aparato.
PCSO also distributed rescue devices, medical assistive equipment, and mobility aids through its CSR Program, led by Atty. Maria Katrina Nicole Contacto-Ventanilla. The equipment is expected to enhance the barangay's emergency response capability and provide assistance to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Barangay Chairperson Gina Barra thanked the agency for its continued support, saying the assistance would help improve healthcare and emergency preparedness in the community.
Meanwhile, PCSO, in partnership with the Philippine Racing Commission (PHILRACOM), successfully staged the second leg of the 2026 Triple Crown Stakes Race on 14 June at the Metro Manila Turf Club in Malvar-Tanauan City, Batangas.
The 1,800-meter race carried a guaranteed purse of P3.5 million.
Gentle Dance emerged as the winning horse, while Pat Dilemma was recognized as the winning jockey. The winning horse is owned and bred by Benhur Abalos, represented during the awarding ceremony by Christopher Ora, and trained by Claudio Angeles.
PCSO Assistant General Manager for Gaming, Product Development and Marketing Sector and Committee on Races Chairperson Atty. Lyssa Grace Pagano led the awarding ceremony alongside PHILRACOM Chairman Aurelio De Leon and Metro Manila Turf Club Racing Manager Jose Rodolfo Prado.
The PCSO said it remains committed to supporting healthcare initiatives, humanitarian assistance, and programs that promote the continued growth of the country's horse racing industry.
