The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has completed a series of community aid distributions and medical missions, delivering healthcare services, mobility devices, and food packs to beneficiaries in Batangas and Dagupan City.
The agency turned over various medical devices and mobility aids to representatives from the 2nd District of Batangas during a ceremony at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong on 25 June.
Atty. Maria Katrina Nicole Contacto-Ventanilla, representing PCSO general manager Melquiades A. Robles, led the handover to Albert Mendoza, a political affairs officer representing Batangas Representative Gerville Luistro.
Mendoza said the local district office will handle the distribution of the equipment to qualified residents to improve mobility and healthcare access.
The donation followed a medical and dental mission conducted by the PCSO Medical Services Department in Lian, Batangas, on 24 June.
Led by Dr. Juliet Diaz in coordination with the office of PCSO director Imelda Papin, the mission provided free medical consultations to 133 residents and dental services to 32 beneficiaries.
The team performed general health checkups, electrocardiograms, tooth extractions and distributed prescriptions.
The PCSO also donated additional medicines to the municipality at the request of Louie Malvar, chairperson of the Balikatan Batangas Chapter, to benefit local fishing and tourism workers.
Earlier in the month, the agency completed a separate humanitarian turnover to the Pangasinan province.
Robles formally handed over 100 “Charitimba” food packs, 50 wheelchairs, 20 walkers and 20 canes to Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez at the Mandaluyong headquarters on 10 June.
Fernandez said the city government will distribute the food and mobility aids to low-income families, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities.
