Three men drowned at an irrigation canal at Barangay Naglabrahan in the town of Guimba, Nueva Ecija on 30 March 2026.
The victims were identified as Elmer Aquino Benavidez, 47-year-old farmer; Ruben Rombaoa Benavidez, 31; and Jomar Gobrin, 29, both working as security guards in Tarlac City.
Elmer and Ruben are relatives while Jomar is a resident of Matnog, Sorsogon.
Police report stated that the three were under the influence of alcohol when they went to take a dip at the irrigation canal, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the three drowned.
Police and Barangay officials immediately responded to retrieve the bodies of the three victims.
Both Elmer and Ruben's bodies lie at their residences at Barangay Naglabrahan, while Jomar's remains will be transported to Bicol to his family.
