Manila’s historic boulevard is set to pulse with new energy on 30 May, as Sparkle Run 2026 transforms the area around the Quirino Grandstand into a high-spirited gathering that blends physical activity, pop culture and personal empowerment.
Up to 8,000 participants are expected to lace up for the inaugural event, which positions movement not just as exercise, but as an act of self-care and shared joy.
Mounted by Sparkle GMA Artist Center in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila and organized by RUNRIO Inc., the run will weave through some of the capital’s most recognizable landmarks. The route is designed to showcase the city’s heritage while encouraging participants to reconnect with their bodies in a setting that feels both festive and meaningful.
Unlike traditional road races that focus purely on competition, this gathering highlights inclusivity. Multiple distance options are available, from a longer endurance challenge for seasoned runners to shorter, more relaxed routes suited for beginners, barkadas and families. Organizers say the goal is to create a welcoming space where first-timers can stand on the same старт line as experienced athletes, united by a shared commitment to health.
Beyond the kilometers logged, the day will feature live performances, interactive segments and appearances from well-known personalities, turning the finish line into a celebration rather than a conclusion. Participants will receive race kits and commemorative medals, but the deeper reward, organizers emphasize, is the sense of accomplishment and community spirit that lingers long after the event wraps.
Registration is ongoing through the official race platform, with details also posted on the social media pages of the organizing groups.
