Kapuso singer and Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition winner Mika Salamanca is officially making her mark in the music scene with the release of her first single “Kasalanan” under Star Music. Dropped last 6 February, the track immediately climbed to the top spot on iTunes Philippines and earned prominent features on Spotify’s New Music Fridays and Billboard Philippines playlists.
Co-written by Jeremy G and WRIVE members Russu Laurente and Ishiro Incapas, “Kasalanan” explores the courage to fall in love unapologetically, ignoring what others might think. Mika shared that the song also serves as a heartfelt tribute to her loyal fans.
The music video pairs Mika with Anthony Jennings in a stylized, action-packed story inspired by mafia drama. Mika revealed, “Anthony was perfect for the role. He guided me through the stunts, and I’m really grateful for his support in bringing the video to life.”
“Kasalanan” made its national TV debut on It’s Showtime, with a lively performance alongside girl group Femme MNL, and Mika later showcased the song at the Wonderful Moments Music Festival at SMDC Grounds, performing alongside stars like Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, Gloc 9, Bini and Cup of Joe.
The new single follows Mika’s debut hit “Sino Nga Ba Siya,” which topped iTunes charts in the Philippines and UAE, charted in Singapore, Cambodia, and Qatar, and broke into Spotify’s Viral Songs top 10 with over five million streams. She also teamed up with fellow PBB winner Brent Manalo for “What If Tayo?,” which dominated the MYX Daily Top 10 and has surpassed 1.1 million views on YouTube.
