Queer romance is never that easy as it is replete with so many challenges and mounting problems.

Boy Abunda and his partner Bong Quintana’s romance is no walk in the park. They did not waltz in the perfumed garden like royalties.

They were challenged early on in their romance that if they were not strong enough they would have parted ways.

An aspiring actor way back then, Quintana joined a workshop where he met Abunda who was working as a PR writer of a theater company. It was there where their romance started.

Quintana was working as an international flight and in one of his US trips, he met again a fellow workshopper. They bonded and were instantly enamored.

Abunda was furious when he learned about it. He asked Quintana to drop his work as flight attendant in an airline company, which he did.

But Abunda is no saint either. He had his own indiscretions, among them a showbiz playboy actor whom his staff fetches to meet him at their rendezvous. A gay theater actor whom he managed in the past and he introduces himself to campus heartthrobs and university hunks.

But amid all these sideline trysts, Abunda and Quintana remain so in love with each other for over four decades now.

As they say, love wins.
