The National Aviation Academy of the Philippines (NAAP) has received two Helio aircrafts from the Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing aviation education.
The donation was formalized during a signing ceremony led by CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario and NAAP Officer-in-Charge Dr. Maria Sisa Dela Cruz on Monday, 9 Februaryq at the CAAP Central Office in Pasay City.
The aircraft are expected to enhance NAAP’s training programs by providing students with increased access to practical learning tools and hands-on experience essential to aviation safety and operational competence.
“This is more than just a transfer of assets; it is a strategic investment in the national aviation community, public aviation education, and the future of Philippine aviation,” Dr. Dela Cruz said.
This reflects CAAP’s role in developing future aviation professionals under the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Next Generation of Aviation Professionals initiative, aligned with the directives of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez.
“We need to find time to focus not only on regulation, air traffic services, and airport operations, but also on enhancing student training, recognizing them as a vital source of future aviation professionals,” Lt. Gen. Del Rosario said.
