Tabuk City — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested several Chinese nationals in Tabuk City, Kalinga for alleged violations of Philippine immigration laws.
In an operation in Barangay Dagupan Centro, authorities arrested 57-year-old Huang Xilai, a former manager of a commercial establishment. The BI said Huang had overstayed his visa, worked without the required permits, and failed to present valid travel documents, showing only a digital copy of his passport.
In a separate operation in Barangay Bulanao, three other Chinese nationals — Huang Huifang, 51; Huang Menggui, 24; and Huang Mengjiao, 28 — were also arrested. The BI said the three were found to have overstayed their visas, worked beyond the scope of their authorized stay, and lacked proper documentation.
The BI said all four were transported to Manila for booking, medical examinations, biometrics, and documentation in preparation for preliminary investigations and possible deportation proceedings.
