Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. met with Gen. Ukris Boontanondha, chief of defense forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, during a courtesy call Tuesday at the AFP General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo.
Arrival honors were rendered for Boontanondha ahead of the meeting, after which he was formally welcomed by Brawner.
During the courtesy call, the two military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security concerns, defense cooperation, and ways to further strengthen military-to-military engagement between the Philippines and Thailand.
The discussions highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Brawner reaffirmed the AFP’s commitment to fostering strong professional relationships with partner armed forces, anchored on mutual respect and shared security objectives.
The AFP said it remains committed to advancing constructive defense engagements that contribute to regional peace, stability and cooperation.
