Grief found its voice in grace as Marjorie Barretto opened her heart to the public, honoring her late mother, Estrella “Inday” Barretto, in a deeply emotional tribute.
In a reflective Instagram post, Marjorie explained why she chose silence before sharing her pain.
“It took me some time to post, as I was still processing every emotion while making funeral arrangements,” she wrote, admitting that the loss felt heavier after losing her brother only months earlier.
Amid sorrow and exhaustion, Marjorie found strength in faith.
“In every trial that comes my way, I have always felt God’s guidance, protection, and grace,” she shared.
One quiet afternoon at the hospital became the memory she now holds closest.
“Just the two of us… Mom trying her best to be her usual chatty self. Without me even trying to be funny, she laughed so hard at my stories. That time was priceless,” she recalled.
Though physically weak, Inday remained sharp, warm, and full of humor — traits that defined her both as a mother and as a woman.
Days later, Marjorie found herself beside her mother once more, this time during her final moments.
“It was peaceful and quiet — a moment I truly believe God orchestrated and one I will hold close to my heart always,” she wrote.
Confronting the reality of loss, Marjorie reflected on the idea of closure.
“They say we don’t always get closure in life… I believe He gave me something even greater — the chance to be with her,” she said.
She ended her tribute with a heartfelt request for prayers and a loving portrait of the woman who raised her.
“Please keep our beautiful, feisty, strong, funny, and loving Mom in your prayers. She is now with Dad and my brother Mito,” she wrote.
Her words resonated across social media, drawing messages of comfort from fans and fellow artists alike. More than a farewell, Marjorie’s message became a reminder that love does not end with goodbye — it lives on in memories, faith and moments that time can never erase.
