

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) inaugurated the Multi-Purpose Aviation Training Facility Building at Barangay Mijares in the town of Dipaculao, Aurora on 22 January 2026.
The said facility is the first of its kind in the whole country and was funded thru the help of Congressman Rommel Angara for the Coast Guard Air Station Aurora.
PCG officials including Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, Commodore John Esplana, Captain Rolando Lorenza and Commander Paul Yves Cacanindin led the said ceremony along with Congressman Angara.
Vice Governor Patrick Angara, Board Member Yam Tolentino, Board Member Menard Amansec, Board Member Ena Tablang, Board Member Mara Cayetano, Board Member Rj Angara, Mayor Danny Tolentino, Vice Mayor Franklin Reyes, Councilors Allan Tolentino and Johnny Cachuela were also present during the event.
Congressman Angara expressed his gratitude to the local government of Dipaculao for donating the land that will be used by the Coast Guard personnel.
The Multi-Purpose Aviation Training Facility Building has a project cost of P9,900,000 million, with specifications such as a 350 sq. m. floor area with ramp; two classrooms; public restrooms; PWD restroom; conference room; five offices; electrical room; foyer; hallway; and equipment storage with a concrete slab rooftop.
Some of the furniture, fixtures, and equipment include a fire alarm system; seven fire extinguishers; air conditioning system on the classrooms, conference room & offices; solar panel; generator set; etc.
As part of the event, a computer set was awarded to Mijares National High School; 50 pcs Monoblock Chairs to Brgy. Mijares local government; and a computer to BNS Federation, Dipaculao.
The facility will be used as a center for training for pilots and aviation personnel of the PCG, and boost the agency’s capacity to provide immediate help, conduct faster search and rescue operations, and safeguarding of threats in the seas.
