BALER, Aurora — The Provincial Government has turned over 10,000 bangus fingerlings to the fish farmers of Dipaculao Tuesday, 21 January.

According to Governor Reynante A. Tolentino, the 10,000 bangus fingerlings came from the Tilapia Breeding and Hatchery Center in Barangay Reserva in Baler. He added that this is part of his administration’s support to the fishing sector of Aurora.

Tolentino was accompanied by Sid Galban during the turnover, and was in collaboration with the Provincial Agriculture Office led by Provincial Agriculturist Arnold Novicio. The governor expressed his gratitude to Melinda Bisarra (supervising agriculturist), Maximina Ligaya Roque (aquaculturist II), Gina Enaje (Center In-Charge, agriculturist II) and Annabelle Lapitan (aquaculturist II).

The project aims to provide sustainable agriculture in the province and serve as an after-training support to continue the spread of knowledge and develop the livelihood of the beneficiaries.

The project aligns with four of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, particularly the No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being and Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Through this kind of initiative, the Provincial Government aims to create a long term effect on the livelihood of the fish farmers and the ecosystem in the province of Aurora.
