The Provincial Government of Bataan on Friday recognized companies inside the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) for their strong and consistent tax contributions, crediting them as key partners in the province’s continued growth.
The recognition was given during the Sinag ng Bataan awards, held as part of the 269th Bataan Foundation Day celebration at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion in Balanga City on 9 January, 2025. The awards honor individuals and organizations whose work helps drive Bataan’s development.
Leading the list of awardees was Mitsumi Philippines Inc., which was named Top 1 Taxpayer under the one-percent share from the five-percent Gross Income Earned (GIE) of FAB-registered enterprises for fiscal year 2024. Mitsumi General Manager Yoshitaka Kitahara, together with members of the management team Jun R. Fevidal and Kriscel Joy L. Junio, received the award.
The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) praised Mitsumi for its meaningful contribution to sustainable economic growth within both the FAB and the province.
“We are proud that Mitsumi Philippines, Inc. has been recognized as Top 1 Taxpayer under the one-percent share from the five-percent Gross Income Earned of FAB-registered enterprises for fiscal year 2024,” Kitahara said. “This recognition reflects our continued commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and meaningful contributions to nation-building and local development.”
Power firms GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD) and GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC), both under the AboitizPower group, were also honored as top real property taxpayers for 2024. GNPD received the Sinag ng Bataan–Alab Award as the Top 2 Real Property Taxpayer in the Industrial Business category, while GMEC ranked Top 4 in the same category.
