The National Day of Austria this year gave us more than one reason to celebrate! We enjoyed a fabulous evening at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila surrounded the prestigious guests. It was lovely to see our beloved diplomats and several VIPs, with the esteemed Ambassador Johann Brieger and Mme. Roswitha Brieger at the helm welcoming us all.

The evening also drew inspiration from Johann Strauss, the legendary “King of Waltz,” as we celebrated his 200th birth anniversary as well. In fact, we were greeted with a life-sized cutout of the King of Waltz as we entered! We continued to pay homage with live performances from the Manila Symphony Orchestra and classical dances, and an impressive dinner spread. They also treated us to a raffle of coveted prizes. It was an occasion brought to life by both Austrians and Filipino partners alike — a beautiful representations of what our two nations can accomplish together.
