Man hacks father in Tarlac

A man allegedly hacked his father after the latter tried to stop him from attacking his brother in Barangay Padapada, Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac on 24 December 2025.

According to the Santa Ignacia Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Tactical Operation Center (TOC) received a call from Barangay Captain Manuel Almerol reporting the incident on the afternoon of December 24.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspect and his brother were drinking inside their house when a heated argument broke out, prompting the suspect to get a chopping knife.

The commotion woke their father, who attempted to stop the suspect from harming his brother. Police said this further enraged the suspect, who then hacked his father on the back.

The victim was rushed to Central Luzon Doctors Hospital in Tarlac City for medical treatment but was later declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Personnel of the Santa Ignacia MPS immediately arrested the suspect and took him into custody for documentation and proper disposition.
