Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. welcomed the signing of the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., saying it would have a positive impact on the agency’s personnel, especially with the Christmas season approaching.

Catapang emphasized that the incentive would significantly benefit BuCor’s workforce and boost morale among its officers and employees.

On behalf of the agency’s more than 6,000 officers and personnel, Catapang expressed gratitude to the President for the SRI granted this year.

Under Administrative Order No. 40, issued on 11 December, President Marcos approved a one-time SRI of up to P20,000 for employees in the Executive branch. The incentive covers civilian personnel in national government agencies, state universities and colleges (SUCs), and government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs), regardless of employment status, whether regular, contractual, or casual.

Catapang said the incentive is not only a timely financial boost but also a recognition of the dedication and hard work of government employees, particularly during the holiday season.
