The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Friday said it has not monitored any security threat against contractor Cezarah Rowena “Sarah” Discaya, who recently surrendered to authorities.

In an ambush interview at Camp Crame, DILG Public Affairs Undersecretary Donnie Puno said Discaya remains safe in government custody and that all agencies involved are coordinating to ensure the proper handling of her case.

“There’s no worry about any security risks,” Puno told reporters.

“Secretary [Jonvic] Remulla has been in close coordination with Secretary of Justice Vida about all of these arrests. They’ve made clear that the legal procedures will be followed. We’re very confident about the security of the jail facilities,” he added.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla earlier said Discaya was never viewed as “armed or dangerous,” noting that her voluntary surrender helps facilitate the legal process.

He added that her case will be resolved strictly through the courts, dismissing speculation that her decision was part of a legal maneuver.

Remulla also encouraged other individuals with pending cases to cooperate with authorities, saying surrender allows due process to proceed without complications.
