Gov’t operative arrested for brandishing gun in Parañaque

A government operative was arrested early Monday after allegedly brandishing a firearm at a group of residents in Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque City.

Police said the incident happened around 2:19 a.m. while the complainants were walking to an eatery along San Antonio Avenue when the suspect, identified only as “Bryan,” 31, reportedly pulled out a handgun and cocked it without provocation. The group immediately sought assistance from barangay officials.

Personnel of the Southern Police District (SPD), along with barangay tanods, arrested the suspect and seized a Glock .40 pistol with serial number NBI560 and license number NBI-303, along with a magazine and three live rounds.

The complainants were identified as “Michael,” 29, a basketball referee; “Brenddy,” 27, a store manager; “John,” 20, unemployed; “Juneth,” 29, laundry staff; and “Joseph,” 25, a rider. All are residents of Barangay San Antonio.

The case has been turned over to the Investigation and Detection Management Section of Police Station 3 for further investigation.
