ICI to continue work until Marcos orders dissolution

The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) will continue performing its mandate until President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. formally dissolves it, Executive Director Atty. Brian Keith Hosaka said on Friday.

Hosaka issued the clarification after Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said the body may have only “one or two months” left before it ceases operations.

The ICI official emphasized that the commission’s tenure is anchored on Executive Order No. 94, which created the body and defines the scope of its functions.

In a message, Hosaka said the commission will remain operational until it completes its mandate or until the President orders its dissolution, consistent with EO 94.

Earlier on Friday, Remulla said he expects the commission to wrap up its initial findings soon and turn them over to his office for further action.

“I think one or two months and their functions will be turned over to us,” Remulla said.

Two petitions have been filed before the Supreme Court questioning the constitutionality of Executive Order No. 94.
